Our Process

The Gregg & Ellis Approach
We know you have questions, concerns, dreams, and a vision for the perfect retreat. We are here to design the finest outdoor space within your budget and we look forward to creating a retreat of distinction and pride for years to come.

A Garden of Solitude or a Backyard Gathering Place
Why not have both! We understand the needs of today’s homeowners, from grilling areas to organic vegetable gardens and it all must integrate with your home’s architecture. Isn’t it time you came home to just… relax? Let’s get started designing your dream yard.
We Ask Questions, and Then we Listen
Your vision is our inspiration. Tell us all your thoughts and ideas. Even if you just have a starting concept, that’s OK, because its time to describe the image of the perfect yard that fits your lifestyle.

During this process, we will examine your yard’s challenges such as slope, drainage and screening issues. We will make sure that your dream path is large enough to accommodate your entertainment needs and that the garden path is wide enough for your cart. If you desire an outdoor kitchen, we will make sure it is functional. If you crave a water feature… can it be seen from your living room?

Our goal is to design a retreat that reflects your personality, your life and your home. That will happen because we listen and ask lots of questions.

Your Dreams Made Real
Gregg & Ellis will provide you with two conceptual designs. Each will vary in approach and concept. This will give you two perspectives on your future yard.

The final design is the blueprint needed to implement the creation of your retreat. This is the culmination of your dreams, with our solutions, that makes your retreat come to life.

Overseeing the Plans and Work
We will work to get the right contractors for the job and oversee the implementation of the design. It’s vital that we are involved in each construction phase since we are the keepers of your vision and your advocate during this tumultuous and exhilarating process.

Welcome to Your New Retreat
Your new retreat will begin to emerge. It will take shape, have color, texture, and life. There may be a need to move plants, change the shape of the path slightly or make other minor changes. Once again, that’s OK. This is your retreat; we want it to be ideal.
